What you'll notice
Pressing buttons produces no beep and no response at the indoor unit, though the remote display itself may still light up.
Why it happens
Flat or corroded batteries, a failed infrared emitter in the remote, or a failed receiver in the indoor unit. The remote showing a display does not mean it is transmitting.
How we fix it
We confirm transmission by viewing the remote emitter through a phone camera, then test the indoor receiver. Where the unit itself is fine, a replacement or universal remote resolves it without any work on the system.
